Business Quiz on Mahatma Gandhi

We kick-off this quiz-page with a tribute to  the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, with some questions which were not asked to Munna Bhai !!

(All  pictures displayed here, are owned by their respective owners.)

Almost every Indian is familiar with this popular pic of Gandhiji.

Q 1. Mahatma Gandhi was usually seen in this dress, with a pocket watch hanging from his waist.Take a close look at the watch - can you tell  the brand name of the watch he is wearing ???

The answers will be provided in the next post.

Here’s another one on Gandhiji, it is easier and I expect everyone to answer it :

Q 2. Name the iconic pen-maker company, which took out a Rs. 16 lakhs  (about $24,000) pen called Mahatma Gandhi Limited Edition 241. The number 241 signifies the  number of miles Gandhi walked during his Dandi march, from Ahmedabad,  to protest the Salt tax; and only 241 such pens were to be made.

Here is a difficult one; in fact a trivia :

Q 3. Name the Opticians who provided Gandhiji, his trademark spectacles ??

Game for some  easy ones ?

Q4.  Name the doyen of Indian Industry, who wrote “In the Shadow of the Mahatma” and was closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi.

Q5.  What was Gandhiji’s family occupation  and what was his father’s profession ??

And finally;

Q6.  On 30th Jan. 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated. Nathuram Godse shot Gandhiji on his chest, three times, at point-blank range. Mahatma Gandhi fell backwards and said "Hey Raam", as he breathed his last.
Can you name the weapon (brand) used ??

Try answering as many as you can without Googling.

Post your answers in the Comments box below.

Do come back later, to check your answers !!

I  have been an avid business-quizzer for over 20 years now, and I have enjoyed every moment of it, whether I am on the dais facing the spotlight and being “quizzed” or grilling the participants as a Quizmaster.

Over the years, I have collected a huge sets of questions of my own. all of them are ‘my originals’ and some are absolute gems !!
Hardcore Business Quizzing is not about the generally known facts about business; but those trivia and arcane bits of information that peppers and spices-up the world of business.

I hope this blog will be found useful, if not invaluable and priceless, by those who live and breathe Quizzes, those who reminiscence and are nostalgic about  Siddartha Basu’s Quiz Time on the once-only-national-TV Doordarshan, who grew-up with Derek O Brien’s  the Britannia Quiz Contest,   who are sharpening their QQ (Quiz Quotient) in the campuses of B-schools, those who are interested in ET-Brand Equity Quiz andTata-Crucible – the epitome of Corporate Quiz culture; and not forgetting the quintessential Indian who is crazy about Amitabh Bachchan and his KBC.

I welcome all of them to this fascinating realm of business quizzing on “Business Quiz”.

Bon Quizzing !!!
